Passport and Travel Document Checklist: Keep Everything Safe and Organised

November 04, 2026 · ORBELLIQ Team

Your documents are the most important things in your bag. A little organisation saves a lot of stress.

Documents to carry

  • Passport with enough validity for your destination
  • Visa or e-visa, where needed
  • Flight, train and hotel confirmations
  • Travel insurance details
  • Government ID and a spare passport photo
  • Emergency contacts written down

Keep digital and paper copies

Save photos of your passport and visa to your phone and cloud storage, and carry one printed copy in a separate bag from the original.

Use one dedicated wallet

A slim travel wallet keeps your passport, boarding pass, cards and cash together, so you are not searching through pockets at security or immigration.

About RFID protection

Some wallets include RFID-blocking material that is designed to reduce the chance of contactless cards being read without your knowledge. It is an extra layer, not a replacement for good habits such as keeping your cards close to you.

Everyday safety habits

  • Keep your passport on your person or in the hotel safe
  • Use a bag with a secure zip in busy places
  • Do not leave documents visible on a table
  • Tell someone where your copies are stored
